I am working on some stuff using the the Weaver Theme. It has options to do edititing but seems much more stable and more direct in it is typical configuration option then the previous used Atualchpa (or however it was spelled) had availalbe. In order to really fully implement, configure, and test some of the menu options with which I wish to take advantage, I needed some additional posts in different categories. Hence a short post that primarly addresses that and also includes a different sub-category to use for just such testing going forward.
Forgot to mention that they decided after the RC2 that they needed a 3 to fix some things. Apparently there are still some issues, though I will be darned if I can find any without reading what else someone has found. Anyway, this test blog is now running RC4 and all still seems to be well. Cool little tool I found that lets me pop in the nightly builds at anytime by the way to see what has changed over the day. Honestly though, the changes at this point are very minute in nature. Really looking forward to the official release and seeing just how that is going to intergrate with Buddy Press and BB Press. Not really looking forward to the weekend or two that I am going to need to sit down and work on themes after it all comes out. Of course on the other hand, once that is done it will be done for a while.
Speaking of themes, does anyone have any suggestions for my themes? One I am seeing is the mandated widths on the sidebars kills them for mobile phones. But I am going to have a look at that. Not sure if I am going to keep the two sidebars, eliminate the hard width, or something more radical like including the plugin for mobile devices that I had dropped once before. Anyway, let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Everything is looking good, but I thought I would get another post on here really quickly I was thinking about it. I have been running the betas and upgraded to the first release candidate this afternoon. Fairly pleased with the work done on this release. Really liking the menu bar addition accross the top for logged in users. Makes a lot of things a lot easier to get then they were before. Also gives me a really quick indication if I am actually logged in or not when I hit the page (some of my blogs are not necessarily so easily detetected due to having moved around various widgets and such). To Matt and company my hats off and keep up the good work.
This blog website is nothing more than a sandbox for doing test work with WordPress. I maintain several WordPress blog sites and like to test out new things sometimes before actually making them live. I am also working on a couple of themes as well as doing some work sometime in the near future on a couple of plugins. This was just set up as a place to test and play around with settings and looks before making anything live on an up and running site.
